You only have 3 options in ther Single Tone, Continious Tone or OFF I think I am going to try setting it to continious tone The icon is there but it doesn't do the sound.Īnd on the Garmin device under settings Proximity AlertsĪlerts has both the Garmin Red lights Cameras and CustomPOIs checked I go right though the intersection and not a peep. I set that so that it should ding when I go over that speed in the zone. I set it to be 250M and for the other speed cames for say 60 KM/H.
And I am selecting manual as well in the POI Loader as well so I can set the distance from the RedLight and Speed Cam. I have one for each of the speed cams well from like 30 KM/H to 100 KM/H warnings as well. I am compiling and uploading each one separately too the 3 files for each one are in a different sub directory. I was even watching a tutorial video on Youtube as well and he does the exact same thing that I am doing.Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\POILoader>sox.exeĪnd the sox.exe isn't corrupt or anything I can go to a dos prompt and intoj the directory and type sox.exe and everything comes up ok the file appears to be ok.Īnd the files are named all the same for the csv, bmp and mp3. I can hear that clearly but it just doesn't play the "red light camera ahead" sound when I come to one or "speed camera ahead"Įverything else plays fine except the custom POI sounds I mean all the voices works it gives me diretions ok. I am really stumped again I have the sox.exe in the same directory as the POILoader. So it hasn't worked with either the WAV file or the MP3 file now. I went out and tested it and I got to a red light camera and the camera showed up on the map again it showed up as the little red camera Again I had all 3 files in the same directory the *.cvs, *.bmp, *.mp3 Then I used the POILoader again to upload all of the cvs files back into the device again. Everything was fine and I was able to play them, no issues there. I listed to the MP3 files to make sure they were ok and I could play all of the files on my computer before they were uploaded. I took the WAV files out of the directory and stored them in another location outside of where the POI files are being stored. Then I went and downloaded the MP3 version for each sound. The one called USCanadaCyclopsSample.gpi which is just the demo. On there and I deleted the ones that I created earlier. I left just the camera file that was given to me by Garmin I took off all the old *.gpi files from the device I went in and deleted them all.
I have followed all of the information that I could find about this on this site and other sites so far. I also have "Hide extensions for known file types" unchecked so it forces it to show all extensions on files. And yes I checked the extension as well and there is no double extension or anything like that I know I read that this can also be an issue but I checked the file name extensions and that isn't the case here. I have all the files I should need to get this working I don't understand why I am not getting the sound. I can see that there is a camera there and Loader and doing everything that I did but still I am not getting the warning sound. Having the sox.exe in the same directory as the POI
I mean I can see the POI as well when I get near the point the icon is coming up but I don't hear the warning sound.Īll the files are the same name as well they are identical this should be working. Now I heard that some devices do not support the mp3 format any longer so that is why I did not use the MP3 file. I used the Garmin POI Loader to be able toĪnd yes I have the sox.exe in the same directory as the the POI Loader as well.Īnd yes, the file names are identical and the 3 files are all in the same directory the *.csv file the *.bmp file and the *.wav file Now I want to make it clear that I did NOT just copy these files over onto the drive.
I can even look at the *.gpi files on the actual drive itself in the \Drive 50\Internal Storage\POI So I downloaded all of the files and the POIs are showing up on the GPS I can go in and look at them and they are properly installed Ok so I have a Garmin Drive 50-LM and I downloaded the speed cameras from this site.
